Who Am I?

My name is Peter Vujcich. I have been involved in Aviation Medicine since 1984 - initially as a Designated Medical Examiner, then Aviation Medical Examiner in 1996 and latterly as a Medical Examiner Grade 1. I am also a Designated Medical Examiner for the Australia Aviation Authority (CASA) for those pilots who need an Australian licence.
I have always been keen on flying and Medicine; at one time working for a GP in the Australian outback in 1981, flying to remote clinics to provide GP services. My other medical interests beside General Practice include emergency medicine.
In 1996 I gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Aviation Medicine with Distinction through Otago University. I continued to combine rural General Practice in Kaikohe with Aviation Medicine. In the past, I have worked as a Contractor for CAA which has been positive as I gained good insight as to the processes within CAA, as well as developing contacts within the Medical Unit
Somewhat belatedly, I learnt to fly. For a number of years I was part owner of a Pioneer 300 microlight which was such a great plane to fly. Sadly it was sold a few years back but I still fly
As well as my Aviation work, I now work mainly as a roving GP locum and Urgent Care Dr,. This was mostly in Northland, but anywhere in NZ and occasionally Australia. Sometimes this means that I am unavailable to do an aviation examination
NEW ADDRESS
After 30 or more years in Northland, I have moved to live in Cromwell Central Otago. I will still be available for pilot medicals in Kerikeri & Whangarei on a regular basis. I will be available to do pilot medicals in Central Otago as well as Wanaka and Queenstown. I developing a mobile option of doing medicals in other centres but this has been delayed due to COVID.
Should you need a medical or are thinking about flying and need further information, then please contact me
